Apprenticeship

About the Apprenticeship Program

National Society of Intimacy Professionals Community

The apprentice program with NSIP is a continuation of the mentorship program designed to support those interested in certification as an Intimacy Director or Intimacy Coordinator. This program is for people who have already passed their Mentorship training to work professionally in the industry.

The Apprenticeship Program is the next level of official training for prospective intimacy coordinators and directors. It takes the tools learned in the Mentorship Program and allows people to apply them through set experience. While mentees shadow working intimacy directors and coordinators, apprentices may take the lead on projects while a mentor supervises them. The applied practicum allows the apprentice to have access to assistance and expertise. Apprentices are provided with a training plan, goals, and requirements to fulfill through Training Modules and one-on-one discussions with their mentors. The mentor will mostly be in an observatory/support role with apprentice leading.

Certification is not guaranteed; the NSIP committee will determine certification with regular feedback from the mentor. The Apprenticeship process is a minimum four-month commitment with a reassessment after one year. Every individual is different; therefore, the length of the apprenticeship period will vary depending on apprentice needs.
