Our Mission, Vision and Values

Purpose, Mission, Vision, Impact

Our Purpose (guides us, reasons we exist)

The Society empowers artists of all levels and disciplines to safely and courageously create scenes of physical and emotional intimacy. We revolutionize the approach to intimacy in performance by setting and adhering to national standards while advocating for the inclusion of intimacy professionals within the workplace setting.

Our Mission (drives us)

The mission of the Society is to integrate essential intimacy professionals and protocols into industry workplaces through education, training, outreach, and advocacy.

Our Vision (aspire to, the long term goals)

We envision an industry of empowered people engaging with intimacy choreography and performance in innovative, joyful, compassionate, and ethical ways.

Impact (what matters, outcomes)

The Society – a collective of intimacy professionals and supporters – has collaborated with various unions to set national standards for intimacy performance. Recently, these standards have included the creation of pandemic protocols as related to intimacy work. We continue to connect and educate like-minded intimacy professionals and artists; integrate current mental health safety, care, and protocols into creative processes; diversify intimate storytelling; and practice anti-oppression within our company and workspaces.

National Society of Intimacy Professionals

We gratefully acknowledge that NSIP lives and operates across Turtle Island; both on treaty lands within what is now known as Calgary, Edmonton, and Toronto, and on stolen territory in what is now known as Vancouver.
